Hairstyling Introduction  - 2 practical sessions

 

I will teach you the practical and theoretical knowledge of styling hair.

You will learn about  the structure of hair and different types of hair.

The correct products to apply and how to apply them. 

You will learn how to straighten, curl, pin and backcomb.

 

This course is for complete beginners so no experience necessary.

A hairstyling introduction is a stepping stone and will open up your opportunities working within the industry.

Or

If  you are already a Makeup Artist and you want to learn basic hairstyling skills so you can offer a complete service to your clients , then this course will give you the confidence to achieve simple but effective styles.

Home study: 

  • Health, safety & hygiene

  • Contra-indications

  • Hairstyling  guide

Studio: 

Session one 

  • Consultation Techniques 

  • Discussing Brushes and Products 

  • Hairstyling demonstration/student practical on mannequin 

Session two​

  • Model Consultation/preparation 

  • Tutor/Model Demonstration 

  • Student/Model practical

  • Aftercare/Q&A 

 

Courses run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the flexible choice split into half days 10-1pm or 1pm-4pm over a few days or weeks to suit your requirements, if requested and arranged prior to booking.

 

You will need to provide your own model for the 2nd session. Your model will need to arrive at with washed hair from the day before.

Alternatively, you have the option of working on the mannequin during the 2nd session and then producing evidence of what you have learnt with two case studies in your own time outside of the studio, which can then be sent to me by email.

All hairstyling equipment and products will be provided, for use on the day. 

You will need to obtain your own student insurance to work on models and for case studies.

 

                                                                                             

Nationally accredited qualifications 

Qualification: Diploma Level 2

When you have successfully completed your training course(s), you will receive a diploma certificate issued by The Hair and Makeup Academy and accredited by PBD. This not only demonstrates your commitment to the training, but also allows you to obtain Public Liability insurance so you can start offering treatments to paying clients from home or mobile.
